Most people know little or nothing about pinhole glasses. The reason for this is that the eye doctors and the optical industry make a determined effort to keep them out of the hands of the public. They have even pressured the US government to conduct armed raids on pinhole suppliers and destroy their inventory. This is typical of how our corrupt government serves the profit-driven needs of big business, to the detriment of the public. For details, see The Anti-Pinhole Conspiracy. They see inexpensive pinholes as a threat to the lucrative business of selling overpriced prescription glasses and sunglasses. That is why you do not find pinholes for sale in optical stores. Now you can buy them here. Be sure to read the basic information below to learn about the two types of pinholes.

Traditional pinholes have flat or slightly curved lenses of plastic with actual holes punched through them. Ultraviolet light is reduced because the holes restrict the amount of light that reaches the eyes.
Modern pinholes have solid, curved lenses of the same clear plastic used for prescription glasses. The lenses provide full untraviolet protection. The pinhole pattern is printed on the back in ink and a mild mirror coating is added to the front to help hide the pinhole pattern from others. These revolutionary pinhole glasses were developed by CaribbeanEyes and are availabe nowhere else in the world.

Disadvantages: Not attractive for use in public. |
Disadvantages: Mirror coating on front causes some light to be lost due to reflection. |
A pair of traditional pinholes for use at home and a pair of modern pinholes for use in public are the ideal combination. NOTE: If you have more than 6 diopters of myopia, you will probably not find pinholes useful since they cannot overcome so much blur. And, due to the reduced peripheral vision of the lenses, pinhole glasses are intended to be used only when sitting or standing still. They should not be used when moving about or driving a vehicle.
